The Alexander Technique is an educational process that teaches improved use of the body. It helps the student identify inefficient habits, which cause stress and fatigue. Changing these habits improves the way your body functions and improves how you feel. F. Mathias Alexander was born in Australia in l869. He developed his technique in the last decade of the 19th Century and taught it in England and in United States until his death at the age of 86 in l955. Among his students were George Bernard Shaw, John Dewey and Aldo Huxley. The Alexander teacher analyzes the student’s movement patterns in daily life: walking, sitting, bending, reaching, and lifting.
